Description
This is my budget product. They come with a basic sand blasted finish. The carbide ball peen end is press fit and crimped in place such that it will not come out.
The first carbide blade straightening hammer I ever used was similar to this, At the workshop of Mastersmith Shawn McIntyre. You can see this hammer and process in this video.
It will however work to straighten blades!
It is also cheap.
It can also be struck with a hammer and used like a domed chisel for much better control.
Have a look at the rest of my range if you want something better.
Cheers!

On Wednesday night I quenched and tempered a petty knife that ended up warped. Thursday at lunch time I ordered this blade straightening hammer. It was shipped Friday morning and then arrived Monday lunch time. It took the grand total of 2 minutes to straighten my knife. Pity about the previous 3 or 4 knives I tried to straighten in a vice….

I have had pair of warped kitchen knives sitting idle for a couple of years. I couldn’t bring myself to reheat-treat or grind out the warp… needless to say, 5 minutes with the chook and they’re both straight! Unbelievable result for something so simple and I can’t fault the quality or value.
Here’s to many more years choking the chook!
